Very exciting long weekend coming up, not only do we have Mark Knight on Friday and Jungala on Sunday but we have more international goodness to help us celebrate Friday being a public holiday. My very good friends at Halo Live have teamed up with the crew from Sure Thing to bring you First State and local hero Protoculture. Shaun and Gareth from Halo Live have over the past two years cemented themselves as the pioneers of the Trance and Progressive club movement in Cape Town, having featured numerous international artists, including Richard Durand, Cosmic Gate and Marcel Woods. I have been privileged enough to part of the Halo journey from the start and can promise a proper night out. Presold tickets are only R60! Where else can you see two top notch international DJ for less than a round of drinks? Come down to Dragon Room on Thursday night for razzle and maybe a few tequilas with the Halo crew.
Very excited for this! Mark has been one of my favourite producers over the last few years consistently bringing out great new music. His remix of Florence & The Machine comes immediately to mind. Marks graces Cape Town with his presence this Friday at The Assembly as part of his SA Tour.
I have 2 sets of double tickets to give away. All you have to do is copy, paste and tweet the following: Win tickets to @djmarkknight this Friday with @LovokaSA & @rory21 http://is.gd/8ef7Pw #MarkKnightCT
Last weekend was a filled with Porsche. Saturday was the first Porsche Club GT3 Challenge and Sunday saw Porsche Club Cape's first track day of 2012. Instead of trashing the cars around the track we decided to set a two gymkhana type tracks to test the driver's skill. Managed to grab a few photos between runs.
Saturday saw the first round of the first ever Porsche GT3 Challenge happen at Killarney Race Track in Cape Town as part of the Wesbank Super Series. A nasty accident in the Superbikes delayed the whole afternoon's racing by over an hour, which meant that the 2nd race of the Porsche GT3 Challenge happened whilst the sun was setting. Besides the fantastic racing, the race made for some great photos opportunities. Glowing brake disks all round!
Don't know who Daft Punk are? Shame on you... lucky for you I found the great video on the interwebs that gives you a quick 5 min recap. I love the mystery that surrounds them, part of the reason why I'm so intrigued. I hope they do decide to tour again because I will fly great distances to see them live!
